Live this long…chaotic life

Much-aggrieved drama–

Seems midnight hour proved them wrong

I wear the scars of their words

Spoken and withheld

Estrangement can nurture soul…

To hurl at the child…

Her raging roots, habits

Would brim over

Simmering

Salty caustic

From shadows

In her mind—

Maternal weapons

Wielded until

Child was chopped

Pocked to oozing pulp

Nothing left but mere

Trickle of small soul’s

Ravaged identity
